“RosCo” defended Mai Collection's interests against unfounded claims by RAS (RAO) and ARIPO (VOIS)

The RosCo Consulting and Audit group of companies successfully represented the Russian representative office of the Turkish women's clothing brand Mai Collection in a dispute with the Russian Authors' Society (RAO) and the All-Russian Intellectual Property Organization (VOIS).

The dispute arose from notices from these organizations demanding licensing agreements and royalties for the use of music in the brand's retail spaces. “RosCo's” lawyers conducted a detailed legal analysis and proved that the company was legally using the music based on a valid licensing agreement with the legal music service Bubuka. A certificate from this service grants the right to publicly perform the phonograms included in Bubuka's player management system.

"The claims by RAS (RAO) and ARIPO (VOIS) did not take into account the fact that the company had a valid license from an alternative legal source," noticed a representative of “RosCo Consulting and Audit” Group of Companies.

Thanks to the sound legal position and official responses prepared by “RosCo” specialists, the client avoided unfounded financial demands and successfully protected their legitimate interests.
